Task 2 Character Dsign Development

Week 6 - 7

Feedback: The tutor suggested that when selecting poses, I should consider the character’s sense of movement and overall visual tension.

I chose these three poses and refined them. These three poses all have a certain degree of continuity, and the overall shape they form is very distinct.

I drew the different expressions that the character might show in various situations and moods. Since the mask covering the face would to some extent restrict the expression of emotions, most of the expressions I drew were those under the mask.

Week 7 - 8 :

At this stage, I designed several sets of clothes that leaned towards daily wear based on the era background and world view of the character, and selected the one I thought was the most suitable as the character's alternate outfit.

I tried different color combinations.

Finally, I determined the character's posture and refined the original line drawing. I also separated the schematic diagram of the weapon and the composition diagram of the costume, making the character's features and settings more reasonable and the character's setting clearer.

Reflection:

During this project, I was able to further develop and refine the character of Veyrion, giving him a much stronger sense of completeness. While designing different alternative outfits, I gained a deeper understanding of clothing styles within the chosen time period, and this process also allowed me to further imagine and define his personality. Each design decision helped me see the character more clearly, both visually and emotionally.

At the same time, working on character poses became an important learning experience for me. Through practice and experimentation, I improved my understanding of human anatomy and movement. I gradually learned how to identify poses with stronger tension and visual impact, moving from initial uncertainty to a more confident and intentional approach. Overall, this project was extremely rewarding and provided valuable growth in both my technical skills and creative thinking.
