Project 1 / Audio Editing Exercises
While searching for the corresponding sound effects I realised that this was more work than I thought, but with the help of the team members we saved a lot of time and effort.
When editing the voices, since I did all the dubbing for this piece, I may not have done a good job of differentiating between male and female voices, so I could have adjusted the tones to fit the characters better.
Reflections
In the process of completing this exercise, I initially came into contact with the use of Premiere Pro software, before that I have also come into contact with other editing software, which is usually more simple to use, but the relative functionality is not as comprehensive and professional as Premiere Pro, I started from the beginning of the interface of the bewilderment and discomfort to the present through repeated practice and practice gradually began to be familiar with the operation of the I hope to become more proficient in the use of editing techniques in my future explorations.
Record your own voice for 10 seconds for Project 1 Exercise 2 sound shaping.
- Voice of phone call.
- Voice coming from inside of the closet.
- Underground cave.
- Alien/ Orc voice
MUFFIED EFFECT
In this exercise, I explored the process of recording my own native language, which turned out to be a surprisingly engaging and meaningful experience. I rarely get the chance to hear myself speak my mother tongue in such a formal and intentional way, and doing so allowed me to reflect on both the rhythm and emotion of my speech.
It was also my first time using Adobe Audition, which opened up a whole new world of audio editing for me. I experimented with a variety of effects and tools while working on the “Alien” audio concept, aiming to transform my voice into something unfamiliar and otherworldly. Through this creative process, I not only learned how to manipulate sound in technical terms, but also gained a deeper understanding of how audio can shape atmosphere and identity.
Overall, this task helped me connect more deeply with my own voice, both literally and creatively, and allowed me to appreciate the expressive potential of sound design.
